On December 31st the Japanese Dream Organization presents Genki Desuka 2011 (Fight for Japan)
I suppose technically I should be writing about this event but the event is a mix of Inoki Genome Federation (IGF) basically Japanese Wrestling and a couple of fights under K1 rules.
It just seems further proof of the Dream organizations demise and that it is a place where fighters with no real relevance to modern MMA go to fight their last, having finished fighting for any ‘credible’ organizations.
I am always amazed when MMA fans claim to like wrestling, I don’t mean the real stuff, I mean the WWE bullshit show stuff, the fake fights where the story is much more important than the fight, and the fight is a pre determined pantomime.
Sure the real thing that many Americans learn at school, I understand, and the way it has proven itself in many MMA fights to be a useful skill can leave nobody in any doubt as to it’s usefulness.
I don’t know enough about IGF to understand whether it’s genuine or pantomime, but from what I have seen via You Tube etc, it looks like a load of bunkum, but either way makes no difference, I’m an MMA fan, I write about MMA and while I have a big interest in directly related events like K1 and Muay Thai, this just won’t cut it for me.
There are plenty of people out there who can keep you updated with this stuff, check out some other sites from people who care.
