The World of MMA This Week (Europe)

OK continuing this weeks tour of the worlds MMA events this week we come to Europe.

There are four events in Europe this weekend mentioned on Sherdog.

We start with England's  Total Knockout MMA (TKMMA)  - Gods of the Arena out of High Wycombe

Fight card is not listed on Sherdog but it is on the organisations website HERE:

So this is a new organisation and I think this is their first event and it's definitely a place for some up and coming fighters to dip their toes in the water (cage).

I have to say though that Kul Degun is a stand out for all the wrong reasons his record is 1-10 with his only win due to fatigue.  He has lost four fights in less than 30 seconds including his last two and one at 32 seconds. He has reached the second round just twice.


Next we head to Sweden for The Zone FC - Survival, in Gothenburg.

This guys are holding their eleventh event and their fight card is listed on Sherdog HERE:

There are quite a few decent competitors on this card and they seem to be quite well matched. It has quite a big mix of fighters from around the Europe. It's a solid good quality event.

 Ready2Fight (R2F) Casino Fight Night 3 - Erfurt, Germany

Four fights only listed on Sherdog and the main event fighters are (0-0-0) and one of them has a listed amateur record of (0-1-0). So tis isn't going to be the most high level fight of the weekend.


Freon - Gigant Fights - Tukums, Latvia

No card on Sherdog - And I got bored looking for information!


If I were in Europe and I could only visit one event The Zone FC looks to be the best by a big distance.
It's funny for all the talk that MMA is growing so fast, the quality of most of the events around the world outside of the big few is lacking.

That being said of course, just because an event features inexperienced fighters does not mean it wont be an action packed night. What i don't like to see are the organisations with badly matched fighters.
