URCC Bacolod Brawl 4 is just hours away
L’Fisher Hotel at La Proa Ballroom at
8:00pm on October 19th.
It’s going to be an exciting event from Asia’s longest
running MMA organization.
Alvin Aguilar and his team know the MMA
business inside and out and they know how to put on a show and also how to put
on great match up’s (thanks to match maker extraordinaire Will Carlos).
The big fights at Bacolod Brawl are Will
Chope (12-5) vs Rex de Lara (2-1)
and
Main Event: Dennis Salazar vs Alvin
Ramirez.
Chope is a fighter pure and simple, he has
spent the time before this event fighting in China, not MMA, but that’s Chopes
way, he just likes to fight and travel. He is not one of those fighters who pick
the easy fights. He really loves fighting in the Philippines, he used to live
in Baguio and train with fellow Team Buffet member Mark Striegl. He knows he is
always the ‘away team’ fighter who the crowd would be against but he often wins
them over with his easygoing style. He of course is very keen to get a title
shot at the URCC and every fight, every win get’s him closer at present in his
four URCC fights he has won them all and not been outside of the first round.
His recent training has been at the very well respected Phuket Top Team in
Thailand.
His opponent de Lara has a 9inch height
deficit and will have a tough job with 6’4” Chopes crazy lanky style of
fighting.
De Lara also has a very big experience
deficit having had just three fights in his career in 2 years; Chope has
probably had that many this month!
Dennis Salazar (2-2-1) had a pretty shaky
start to his MMA career with one draw and two loses being the sum total of his
first three fights. Since then he has managed to win his last two fights,
including beating Philip Delarmino who at the time was 3-0 and that was surely
a shock win as Delarmino is a knock out expert.
Alvin Ramirez (4-5) has had a checkered
career and he needs to put together some solid wins to build his name.
This fight could be a real battle.
The Bacolod Brawl is not one of URCC’s main events, it's more a provincial show but still with the same URCC level of excitement. This is a taster, a starter for the BIG SHOW:
URCC 22 – Dekada celebrating URCC’s tenth anniversary in some style with some big names expected to be fighting including two of the biggest in Philippine MMA. Eduard Folayang and Eric Kelly. But that’s for another day (December 1st in fact).
