Bragging Rights 2 Battle in the Trenches
K-Oz Entertainment are back with their second event
After their first very successful show in front of a full house the boys from K-Oz are back with more MMA entertainment for you. We hope to speak to them before the event but until then heres the most important stuff The fight card and some previews.
Eve of Anzac Day – Tuesday April 24th 2012 - At the WA Italian Club in Perth
The Event Will Feature Three Championship Fights
Welterweight Title Fight:
Xavier “Xman” Lucas (8-2-1) – Xtreme World Middleweight Champion, Undefeated Pan Pacific Shooto Champion
Vs
David “Hollywood” Hulett (19-10-0) Strikeforce Veteran all the way from the USA
Aussie Lucas will be coming into this fight after a lay off of almost a year. he last fight was a submission loss to Gareth Ealey via armbar. He has a very solid record and has fought in a wide selection of Aussie organisations.
Hulett is coming in from Las Vegas hoping to repeat the gold grab that the Americans made at the last K-Oz event. With a solid 11 year career in MMA he is going to bring Lucas a lot of trouble especially with his wide selection of submission skills. And he is one tough guy ,of his 10 loses 5 have been via decision, he will not be easy to stop. This should be a real battle
Light Heavyweight Title Fight
Steven “Steam Roller” Kennedy (6-5-0) - from Welter to Middle & now Light Heavyweight in 10 months Steaming through
Vs
Sam “Striker” Brown (11-4-1) – Aus and NZ #1 Light Heavyweight & Legends MMA Hong Kong ranked fighter
Kennedy won last time out at Superfight Australia in March with a first round TKO. And although on paper it does not look to great his recent record is a solid 5-2 .
But New Zealander Brown is also going to be leading a raiding party to steal Aussie gold and he is one serious dude, in his last three fights he has two wins at Legend and also one at CFC, Hi level stuff indeed. Kennedy is going to have to bring his A-game and then some to win this one.
Middleweight Title Fight
Dave “Pain Train” Mazzany (8-4-0) – Current K-Oz Middleweight Champion & fights under Wanderlei Silva Las Vegas
Vs
Forrest Goodwin (4-2-0) - New Zealand Middleweight Champion
Mazany has experience here, he was in the last raiding party and he got his gold, but he is back to give the Northern Hemisphere a chance to have another go. Trouble is he trains at Wanderlei Silva’s camp and is in no mood to hand anything back just yet, he’s just coming to flaunt it and because he likes the Aussie sunshine!
Goodwin is really going to have his work cut out to stop the Pain Train.
Rest of the Card
Rob “Axe Kick” Powdrill (2-0-0) – 49 Muay Thai, 7 MMA & 3 boxing fights
Vs
Pat “Luchador” Crawley (8-2-0) – Rise Middleweight Champion & #1 Rank Middlewieght Legends MMA Hong Kong
Last time out Powdrill repelled the raiders from America recording the only win against the invading dogs of war, this time out his threat comes from a traditional sporting enemy as
Crawley is a New Zealander, but he is a real threat to Powdrill, his experience at Legend and Rize should prove much too much from the Aussie.
Joel Oliver (3-1-0) V to be announced
Chris Indich (2-0-0) Vs Peter Carr
Scott Noras V Roy Foreman
Both these fighters are making their debut and it’s the Aussie Noras against the American invader. I dont know much about either fighter except I believe Roy Foreman has grown up amongst MMA fighter royalty and trains at Wanderlie Silva’s Gym in Las Vegas. Should be interesting.
Plus 2 Super Special Surprise Fights on the Night
So that’s it. It should be a very exciting night of fighting from what is a very well run young organisation and for only their second event they have managed to bring in some very good quality fighters from the MMA world.
It will be televised after the event on Foxtel.
Oh and did I mention there will be HOT ring girls?
Why not check out the video below to get in the mood.
