Is Legend Fighting Championship Poised To Become King Of Asian MMA?

Legend Fighting Championship Talking Quietly and Carrying a Big Stick!

Whilst ONE FC has always been happy to run around shouting out loud all sorts of hyperbole, the guys in Hong Kong behind Legend have quietly just got on with the business of putting on fights and seven events in they are still going strong.
No washed up fighters here ready to tap at the first sign of trouble, no below par undercard fights that probably only pleased the gyms who got their names on the card. No, at Legend there is a real push for quality. They really are giving an opportunity to MMA fighters in Asia Pacific to make a name for themselves and push their careers forward, There is no room for imports at Legend just the best fighters from the vast Asia Pacific area.
ONE FC may talk all sorts of talk about having signed 95% of all the MMA fighters in Asia which patently is a lie. They may claim to have a network all over the area and exclusive deals with people likeDream, but when it comes down to it, most of that talk seems loose at best.
Dream also seem to have an exclusive deal with Pro-Elite in Hawaii. It seems the word exclusivity has lost something in translation.
Organisations like the URCC and CFC seem just as happy to have their fighters represented at Legendand they get mighty fine coverage. I mean mighty fine. ONE FC 2 has been and gone and still it’s not turned up on TV here in Malaysia. Really, by the time it hits the screens who will care? A few fighters and their gyms that’s who. Everybody, who cares  knows all the results and have watched the fights online.
Just like ONE FCLegend have a live a pay per view option of their events not just on-line, but also they have PPV TV deals which means the fights are available in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand to name just a few.
In China which none other than the UFC considers the biggest most important market going forward,Legend are available to over 100 million homes, which actually means nothing if you don’t get them watching! But their ratings are right up their with the UFC’s. Yes, I said UFC, not ONE FC!
Legend are playing with the big boys! And, having recently signed a deal with ESPN Internationalwhich gives them an even bigger spread the future looks bright.
The prelims for both Legend 7 and ONE FC 2 were available online free and live. ONE FC went withFacebook which did seem to have some issues with lag and Legend went with YouTube which personally from Johor Bahru home of the worlds worst internet connection (possibly), I had really little trouble watching the fights. I did not purchase the Legend PPV, But I did purchase the ONE FC feed and it was horrible. That’s not ONE FC‘s fault, but it was bad, I actually missed two whole fights and the rest were pretty well unwatchable and I won’t do that again!
Legend have achieved over 20 million internet page views in China alone! Quite a remarkable achievement.
For their next event they are headed to Jakarta, in Indonesia, it seems what ONE FC can do Legend can do as well!
This is potentially the biggest MMA organisation in Asia, I guess we will have to see how things progress for both of these organisations, will ONE FC up it’s game and drop the big names in favor of local quality. Can Legend hold on to it’s top fighters if ONE FC come knocking. Interesting times in Asian MMA indeed, and we the fans have a front row seat.
Here’s the TV advert for Legend 8:
