Very Sad News ICNZ to Close

Industry of Combat New Zealand call it a day Farewell from Promoters This week has been a big week for Neil and I. After six years Neil and I have had to officially call it a day today. ICNZ has become financially unsustainable, and is in significant debt. It is with a bit of sadness and relief for us to be sharing this with our fans, fighters and sponsors but it is something that has been a long time coming. Neil and I have struggled to make enough money to cover events since we moved to the North Shore Event Centre. We always kind of hoped that fan support would increase as time went on unfortunately this didn't happen, so it's time to pull the plug. Both Neil and I have full time jobs and families and we don't have the time that we once have to committing to make ICNZ awesome. When ICNZ was first started it was because a need was recognised, at that stage there was no consistent MMA events, no consistent rules were used and we saw this as a huge gap with in the community. 6 years later this need is not the same. Neil and I are extremely proud of all the things we have achieved in the 6 years as promoters and we hope to carry on doing things that will support and help MMA grow in New Zealand over the coming years. We have gained so many friends and hope to continue building and strengthening those relationships over the next few years with our MMA Officials NZ. We want to thank you all for the very important role you have played as fighters, trainers, Sponsors and fans. We want to thank our Family who have sacrificed precious time and to our friends who have always supported us. I don't think anyone can say we didn't have outstanding fights over the last 6 years. They were fricken amazing! Thanks again to everyone Melodie and Neil
