UFC on Fox 5 Preview ~ pt 1

UFC on Fox 5 Preview ~ Part 1

Bout 1:
Tim Means vs Abel Trujillo

Means stepped up from KOTC at the beginning of the year and has recorded two straight wins in the UFC giving him a nine fight win streak and an eleven fight unbeaten run. With 13 withs via TKO/KO you know he is going to be throwing heavy hands. Trujillo will be making his ONE FC debut after a fairly successful run in the regional circuit and this is a tough test.

Bout 2:
Scott Jorgensen vs John Albert

Jorgensen is in the danger zone having lost his last two fights in the UFC including a knock out in his last bout against Eddie Wineland. You can be sure that he has worked hard to make sure that he gives himself the best chance of retaining his UFC place expect a tough fight. As Albert also finds himself in the same boat having suffered two first round submissions in his last fight leaving him just 1-2 in the UFC. I am not sure that he has what it takes to stop Jorgensen.

Bout 3:
Dennis Siver vs Nam Pham

Siver is a tough experienced fighter with an 8-2 UFC record, he is very well balanced with opponents being in as much danger of a knockout as a submission. Pham is a tough fighter but his UFC record stands at just 2-3 and all of his UFC fights went to decision. I expect that this fight will also go to the final bell.

Bout 4:
Henry Martinez vs Daron Cruickshank

Martinez has two UFC fights both going to Decision with one win and one loss, he is a solid prospect with a good all around game. Cruickshank is coming in on the back of a five fight winning streak including his UFC debut last time out. This is a tough fight to call and should provide good entertainment.

Bout 5:
Ramsey Nijem vs Joe Proctor

Nijem has settled into the UFC after a shaky start and enters the cage with two wins including a first round knockout in his last outing. An rounded fighter he has a well rounded game. Proctor hit the UFC with a bang literally beating Jeremy Larsen via first round TKO back in July and this promises to be a real fire cracker of a fight expect this to finish via TKO one way or another.

Bout 6:
Mike Easton vs Raphael Assuncao

Easton comes into the bout on a 8 win unbeaten streak including three in the UFC. He is very tough to stop and is very durable more than fifty percent of his bouts have gone to decision. Assuncao comes in on a much shorter run and is going to have to use all his famous ground skills if he wants to finish Easton. Expect this to be a tough fight.

The rest of the card will be previewed in our next post by The Coffee Boy if we can keep him focused long enough.
