Shooto Gig Tokyo 9 – Preview

Shooto Gig Tokyo 9 – Preview

Published on April 9, 2012 by The Editor in X-Shooto

Well Here’s My Preview of Shooto Gig Tokyo 9 or is it?

We have been through this before, Sadly, I don’t speak or read Japanese and Shooto don’t really have an English version of their site  just a google or whatever translated on the fly thing. So, all I can do it put up what I think is the Fight Card and go through it, but it could of course all be bollocks! I have no idea of the Fight card Order, so apologies for any mess ups.

Bout:
Yuta Sasaki Vs Kazuhiro Ito

Sasaki (8-1-1) his last seven fights have all gone to decision and although he has won five of them and he obviously is a durable fighter, he’s only young and obviously will improve with more experience.

Ito (5-8-1) looks to me to be a dead weight for Sasaki to gain another win against, he has not won any of his last six fights, in fact he has not won in three years.

Bout:
Yosuke Saruta Vs Hiroshi Osato

Saruta (3-3-1) has spent his whole career in Shooto and it’s been a mixed bag of results

Osato (4-2-1) another all Shooto fighter, unlike Saruta, Oasto has never won by anything other than a decision, So I don’t see this one being any different. He either takes it the distance and then it’s a crap shoot of judges or Osato stops him.
Bout:

Yuta Nezu Vs Takuya Ogura

Nezu (10-6-1) is by far the more experienced fighter here although both of them are on the back of a two fight losing streak.

Ogura (4-4-0)

Bout:
Takeshi Saito (2-1-0) Vs Takashi Kajikawa (no record)

Bout:
Hideto Okada Vs Hiroshi Roppongi

Okada (0-2-1) all three fights have gone to decision, so he’s tough, but he has yet to find out what it takes to win.

Roppongi (0-2-0) also has no idea what it’s like to win, so unless these two stumble upon a draw one of them will have a nice W on his record.

Bout:
Kirohito Kodama Vs Tomoaki Ota

Kodama (2-0-0)

Ota (0-1-1) Two fights in three years, no wins, I spy a piece of meat to help Kodama get another W on his record.

Bout:
Ukyo Abe Vs Yoshida

Abe (0-1-0)

Yoshida – The website is not very clear on this one, I am sure that Yoshida’s first name is not 16gou so, I can’t really tell you anything except it’s his debut.

Bout:
Takanori Takahashi (1-1-0) Vs  Toshiro Chihama (no record)

Bout: Main Event

Takahiro Hosoi Vs Kenji Yamamoto

Hosoi (6-7-2) has had a real shaky run of late, it’s almost, win one, lose one, draw one, repeat, he may need to improve a lot to really make any sort of career out of this fighting lark!

Yamamoto (3-1-0) had a nice little three fight winning streak going and then it all came tumbling down when he met Akihito Ishihara who punched his lights out in just 16 seconds back in September 2011.
This apparently is a Main Event bout, beats me I guess, um OK what ever, it’s not very exciting is it?
So that is it. I’m not sure what to make of it, It actually looks like it might be a fun event, not top quality stuff, sure, but could be a lot of fun.
