On Saturday night the whole MMAnewsAsia team had the pleasure of spending an evening in Kuala Lumpur for the first ever event from GODS FC. The brainchild of Will Chope and Mark Striegl. Held at Overtime Bar, River City, Jalan Ipoh it was a fun night of fast and furious fights.
Even before the event the awesomeness of MMA people was confirmed as a chance meeting in the street on our way to the hotel led to The Commentator being invited to roll at the newest MMA gym in Kuala Lumpur, right in the Golden Triangle - Monarchy MMA so big thanks to Samir Mrabet and his team, The Commentator loved the chance to roll with some top quality BJJ guys!

Melvin Yeo better known as Overkill from Ultimate MMA Academy in Johor Bahru was the victor in the Main Event defeating an opponent who was a massive 14kg heavier than him. Mamat Sparko must have thought that would be enough but Overkill is one seriously talented fighter, The week before he won an Muay Thai tournament fighting at a weight class above his actual weight class.
