Brace for War 15 Coffs Harbour ~ More Aussie MMA
It certainly seems that Australia get’s more than it’s fair share of MMA, almost every week there is an event or two somewhere in that vast country and of course they also get to have visits from the UFC.
This large amount of MMA means a very knowledgable appreciative local fan base and appropriately some very successful Aussie fighters who have spread out around the MMA world including the UFC and unlike the majority of their Japanese counterparts the Aussies seem to do just fine in the UFC thank you.
With Cage Fighting Championship going with the terrible Bob Sapp for its next card and therefore leaving most real MMA fans wondering WTF? Maybe it’s time for BRACE to be the new kings of Australian MMA, I am sure they would not do such a terrible thing to their paying customers.
So let’s have a look at the Fight Card and preview some of the fights
David Greaves (1-0-0) (Integrated Brisbane) vs Marc Brady (no record) (Impact Brisbane)
Greaves had a nice quick submission win in his debut back in October, Will he make it 2-0 or is Debutant Brady going to bring him a surprise?
Jordan Anthony (no record) (Gamebred Brisbane) vs Paul Daniels (no record) (Brotherhood Newcastle)
Luke Morris (2-6-0) (C4 Coffs) VS Jacob “J Money” Mahony (5-6-0) (Impact Brisbane)
Morris started his career on the receiving end of two unanimous decisions but bounced back with two straight wins, sadly that’s all a distant memory as he has lost his last four fights. The thing with Morris is he is a super tough guy, hard to knock out or submit and to that end six of his eight fights have gone to the judges.
Mahony on paper had a better record but don’t read too much into that, this will be a close fight that might well go all the way.
Gokhan “Pitbull” Turkyilmaz (4-6-0) (GC) VS Sam “Sledgehammer” Bastin (2-4-0) (Allegiance Port Macquarie)
Turkylimaz has no consistency and is coming off of the back of two losses lucky for him Bastin is in much the same kind of non consistant form. This one could go either way.
Aaron Dyett (4-1-0) (C4 Coffs) VS Connor Murphy (2-1-0) (Hybrid Hobart)
Dyetts sole loss was to a knock out punch. His wins have all come from Decisions, So he is going to be a durable test for anybody. But could his lack of finishing ability be his downfall against Murphy?
Main Event
Ben “Benny Blanco: Alloway (11-3-0) (Gold Coast) VS Rod Staader (5-5-0) (Newcastle)
Alloway has a superb record and is on a four fight winning streak, he is a superb all-rounder and is going to prove a huge test for Staader and I am not sure Staader is a match for him.
