Why Does The Biggest MMA Organisation in the Whole Universe Have Such A Poor Website?

Why Does The Biggest MMA Organisation in the Whole Universe Have Such A Poor Website?

The ‘Biggest Mixed Martial Arts Organisation in the Whole Universe’ may or may not be Asian based, but if you were slightly interested in MMA and wanted to check out their website to give you more information, what would you find?
Let’s look behind the door shall we?
The ABOUT US tab: Well, I guess it’s the Asian way, but I for one am getting tired with phrases like “Asia’s largest and most prestigious” from an organisation that has held ONE event that failed to sell out, and, in my country at least was screened on TV as very much an after thought some weeks later.
The fact that so there are so many seats in a stadium or so many ‘possible’ viewers for a TV area means nothing if the stadium does not sell out and a teeny tiny fraction of the ‘possible’ viewers actually have a TV or know or care that the event exists.
The ‘Biggest Mixed Martial Arts Organisation in the Whole Universe’ is not the only MMA organisation that does this, remember Dana White saying 60 million Brazilians had watched the UFC 134, they hadn’t, but you don’t know that do you? Apparently maybe 10 million people had tuned in (still an impressive number) it’s seems 60 million was the possible audience if everybody who had the feed had tuned in.
The NEWS page has not been updated since the 28th November even though there have been drib drabs of information through ‘favored’ MMA websites and media, but again the casual fan will know nothing of this and certainly the website won’t help them.
Checking out the EVENTS page is of no help as it’s still advertising the first event back in September 2011.
The FIGHTERS tab is no help at all still citing that it is in discussion with fighters with more news soon. That’s been up for quite a while now.
The TICKETS tab, goes to an outside website where you can buy tickets for February’s event, but first you have to register – and good luck with that! So far I have not managed it because the activation code seems not to have been sent to me.
Why couldn’t the ’Biggest Mixed Martial Arts Organisation in the Whole Universe’ allow us to buy our tickets through a trusted and quality organisation like Sistic?
The MEDIA tab, has 7 miserable photos that really do nothing to give you an idea of how exciting MMA is and NO videos. Really why bother with that tab.
There is a SPONSORS tab which lists all the sponsors so I guess that works and finally the CONTACT US tab which allows you to contact the organisation. However, in my experience they probably will ignore you.
Now, I know it seem’s I have a downer on the ’Biggest Mixed Martial Arts Organisation in the Whole Universe’.
BUT, I don’t, I paid to go to the first event and I really enjoyed it, and if I can find a way to buy a ticket, I expect to be at the next three events and I expect to enjoy them.  I want the ’Biggest Mixed Martial Arts Organisation in the Whole Universe’ to actually really become massive, I want it to compete on a level field with UFC and that’s why I write this, for an organisation with the ambitions of the ’Biggest Mixed Martial Arts Organisation in the Whole Universe’ this website is sadly lacking.
And to actually achieve it’s proclaimed ambitions the ’Biggest Mixed Martial Arts Organisation in the Whole Universe’ will actually need to attract the ‘casual fan’ the kind of person who does not read the MMA websites but might have heard of MMA or ONE FC and decides to check out the website.
Marketing is so important and on-line marketing is rapidly overtaking ‘traditional’ forms of marketing and any organisation needs to ensure it’s on-line strategy is working.
I guess, I’m not a suck up, in my experience being a suck up does not help any organisation achieve it’s aims, standing tall and shouting ‘The King Has No Clothes’” is much more useful. As far as the website is concerned I’m standing up!
Of course that standing up will, I am sure, also ensure that I never achieve the status of ‘favoured’ media, but I have to be honest about what I see.
This organisation has not, even though I have asked on a few occasions added me to it’s mailing list. That does not make them unique, others in the industry has also failed to do that (what is that about?) Regardless, I still try to advertise the industry and it’s events. Let’s be honest, they don’t need me, however, surely it would pay to have free coverage on as many platforms as are available.
So, I’m sure they will continue to ignore me and I will continue regardless to support their events.
Let’s hope the website soon matches the ambitions.
