I was actually seriously considering forgoing ONE FC’s event in Jakarta to go to the Legend Fighting Championship 7 event at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Macau (The City of Dreams).

Why? I hear you ask, well, I suspect there will be no story at ONE FC that is not posted a hundred times by a hundred different websites, blogs and other media and lots of those guys will unlike me be cage side and have full access pre and post event to the fighters and their teams. Sadly, something it seems I am not destined to have at the ONE FC Organisation.

So my attempts to report on the event would be from a seat rows back and with no hope of getting a decent picture or being able to really see clearly what’s occurring with room to make notes and of course no access to any of the fighters or their team members. It’s my fault I have not ‘played the game’ and have considered ONE FC to be the same as any other organisation out there and dared to post articles that are not always carrying the right amount of awe and wonderment, plus I have dared to mention that I don’t think hype is actually a substitute for the facts. my bad.

I always liked to be a bit different, when I was much younger I choose a Yamaha FS1E while almost all my friends picked Suzuki AP50′s, I’m not saying one was better than the other, I just liked the sleeker lines of the Fizzy, nowadays, I have chosen  an Acer iconia over an iPad. I’m just that way out!

Legend Fighting Championship of course will be in the shadow of the might of ONE FC and I guess it should be as ONE FC has by their own words 95% of all the fighters in Asia. So this remaining 5% had better put on a hell of a show if they don’t want to get left behind. So, I thought I might want to be different and go to Macau.

And

Then, I saw the cost of the flights to Macau, they are  more than twice as expensive as flying to Jakarta and believe me hotels  in Macau are not the same price as hotels in Jakarta, and so that idea was dead in the water, sure if it was for a full on holiday it’s worth it, but for two days? No, sorry, have I ever mentioned I don’t get paid for this and it’s all my own money I am spending? Well I don’t and it is!

So, I guess I will be in Jakarta, which let’s be honest will be no bad thing as this is hopefully going to be a fantastic event. With a full card of action promised including some great up and coming local fighters.

Oh and in other news ONE FC will be having a press conference on 31st January at the Four Seasons Hotel in Singapore at 2:00pm and in our No Hype No Bullshit way that’s it, that’s the news. We won’t be at the press conference, but don’t worry plenty of people will be and they will report the F out of it, and believe me they will make it sound the most important and earth shattering news ever and they will be rewarded.
