Those Malaysian Fighting Championship Boys and Girls have a new event this coming Saturday (10th March)  MFC 4

And we have a rough idea of part of the card and a poster so let’s be happy!
These events are intimate and well attended, you won’t see many truly great fights, if any!  But you will be entertained.
The biggest issue is the overall lack of matchmaking sophistication. Often it seems a willingness to fight and to be in the right weight class is all it takes. However, I am sure they could easily find some people willing to work on the match making.  Often at these type of events it does seem like certain fighters are being fed soft fights. This is not an issue unique to muayfit. It’s an issue to all organisations putting on these smaller events. What this type of event does need though is an element of distance by the match makers from the ‘hosting gym’ to ensure all the match up’s are fair.
It’s a sad fact that at this level most of the fighters are fighting for very little if any money, that’s just the sport as it stands in Asia, there is not much money sloshing around, the fighters know it but they fight because they love to fight.
We have to be thankful that Muayfit who are behind MFC are helping to improve the awareness of MMA in Malaysia and giving fighters or wanna be fighters a platform to try to prove themselves. Often the fighters have ‘stage names’ or preposterous nicknames or they just have no record, so searching something like Sherdog will often turn up no information, so predicting fights is very hard.
Of course some of the Muayfit fight team (Muayfit Elite) have recently been seen in ONE FC. The sad thing is I think they have  better fighters in the team than those that represented them. What they went for was the bigger marketing opportunity and I guess you cannot blame them for that at the moment. But, it’s a start and people are of course becoming more aware of MMA and Muayfit because of their appearance.
So approach MFC 4 as a fun night out with some exciting fights and you should have a great time.
Sam “Da Man” Chan (1-1-0) (Malaysia) Vs Mohd Sami (Palestine) (no record found)
I have seen Chan fight twice (in fact I was ref at one of the fights) and he has proven himself a tough durable fighter who certainly has ability in the cage.
Jian Kai Chee (3-3-0) (Malaysia) Vs Syed Hilman (Malaysia) (no record found)
Chee is well on his way to rebuilding his career from the heights of facing Ole Laursen at Martial Combat and Arnaud LePont (now Muayfit fighter manager) at DARE both losses. Since those days he has won three at the Muayfit Mayhem 2 event. He lost his last fight last month to Adrian Tham at F3 Kombat Championship. But this fight and his later one will prove nothing.
Almas “Abdulla” (Kazakhstan) (no record found) Vs “The Punisher” (Malaysia) (no record found)
Muhd Hazrul “Secsyen”  (0-1-0)  (Malaysia) vs Desmond “Mikro Cro Cop” Chui (0-1-0) (Malaysia)
Will “The Kill” Chope (6-5-0)  (USA) Vs Leim Yee Ming (Malaysia) (no record found)
Chope has been working very hard recently and his latter record is a very impressive  5-1 he has been atURCC and DARE so I am not sure what he is hoping to achieve at this level, a loss would be a major blot on his record and a win would prove nothing. The biggest danger is he could injure himself ahead of his expected fight at DARE  on the 17th against Saengchot Parkaiphet. This fight won’t last a minute!
Jian Kai Chee (3-3-0)  (Malaysia) Vs Vernon Apostol (Malaysia) (no record found)
See my previous comment on Chee
Oni (Malaysia) (no record found) Vs  Mohd “Bullkiller” Zakhir (0-1-0) (Malaysia)
Hanif “The Predator” Zainal (Malaysia) (no record found) Vs Keith “The Terminator” Alden (UK) (no record found)
Chen “The Cannon”  (Malaysia) (no record found) Vs Zeus” Xian” (Malaysia) (2-1-0)
(I am uncomfortable with this fight)
Lachlan “The Caledonia” Kid (UK) (no record) Vs Arzin “The Kid” (Malaysia) (no record found)
Nik “The Bloodhound” Harris  (Malaysia) (1-0-0) Vs Antonio “The Brooklyn Monk” Graceffo(USA) (3-1-0)
This is the big event and there has been a certain amount of smack talk. One thing I can guarantee is both of these fighters really want to win this one and win it well. Graceffo living up to his name has literally lived like a monk for the last three months actually sleeping in the gym cage. He is taking this fight very seriously.
Nik Harris is known to as the best heavyweight fighter in Malaysia and The Monk is angry about that, he thinks it’s hype and bull and wants to prove it to be so.
So there you have it, there are more fights expected to be announced but what you have is a mix of good match ups, mystery match ups and almost guaranteed walk overs. I wish that last label was not in this event.
