DARE 1 – 12 A Call Out and a Surprise Fight –
GAME ON
OK here’s the deal, Jonathan Nutt promised us seven fights and when Haja Vs The Game had to be cancelled due to a late rib injury to Haja, the Dare organisation tried and failed to find the Game a new opponent.
They failed and so they invited Arnaud ‘The Game’ Lepont into the ring and sporting his new zig zaggy mohawk and a nifty Muayfit Elite shirt he proceeded to call out ‘Magical’ Ray Elbe telling us all that his gym was good but he sucked! That’s should put that cat amongst the pigeons.
Next up Jon Nutt apologised for not getting The Game fight sorted and explained that he had said if they could not get that fight sorted he would step in the ring himself. And, so it came to pass, what promises to be a little bit of fun is Jon Nutt from Dare fighting ‘The Latino’ from TUFF (Marcelo Tenorio).
With that the cameras followed Jon Nutt to the dressing rooms and we watched him prepare to fight after apparently getting a full four days notice.
During this downtime the club kept the atmosphere high with some pumping music and plenty of visuals on the big screen.
During this period ‘he’ appeared drunken expat man, he managed to push his way to the front where the cameramen were supposed to be, get in front of people who politely stood behind the line and then drop and smash his beer bottle. He appeared to be sorry, apologising but he was still standing his ground. Luckily for us all he had a big friend, a giant but obviously sensible guy who came and led his friend away, thanks dude.
So, after a short wait the fighters were announced, first the Latino, upon first sight I thought he is going to win this, he was pretty dam ripped. Then Jon ‘The Entertainer” Nutt turned up his walk to the cage was slow a he hammed it up big time and removed probably six different t-shirts, a comedian then but would we get a comedy fight?
No doubt about it Jon Nutt is a big guy, but compared to the Latino he has a much softer looking body.

Jon “The Entertainer” Nutt representing DARE Vs The Latino representing TUFF
Round 1:
OK anybody who thought this would be a joke fight would have had to revise that idea within seconds of the start, Nutt came out and threw a leg kick, the second kick he threw the latino dodged and the next kick a magnificent sweep took him completely and he was down, that kick was no joke, very few people would still be standing, Jon Nutt has skillz ladies and gentlemen! Nutt goes with him and is in mount, Latino tries to shake him off and is unsuccessful, Nutt postures up and lands a few stikes, the Latino pulls him into guard, Nutt punches into the body, then postures up again and lands more punches. Nutt managed to cut Latino, and used a combination of punches and palm strikes.
The ref stands them up and Nutt looks tired but as soon as they stand up the Latino tries to hit him but Nutt takes him down beautifully, the Latino has him in guard but within seconds Nutt is in mount. It goes quiet for a few seconds, Nutt tries to posture up and land strikes, Latino is not defending himself well and quite simply he is getting beaten up. Jon Nutt is in control and controlling the fight, Nutt suddenly switches stance and attempts an armbar but somewhere in the movement he forgot the arm. Nutt again tries an armbar from guard, the Latini tries to posture up and Nutt get’s away and they stand up, Nutt puts an outside leg trip of the Latino and he takes him down again. Nut is on top and in control, the ten second warning goes and it’s going to go to a second round. Who knew?
After the first round I think the Latino must wonder what the hell has happened, his superior body against the doughy bodied yank joker, hell, that boy has some skillz! Nutt with only four days notice is a long way from fit, but skill does not leave so quickly.
Round 2:
As they got up for the second round both fighters looked tired, Nutt came straight out with a spinning head kick that missed, Nutt tries to punch the Latino and the Latino gives some solid replies, Nutt tries a spinning back fist missing again, the Latino hit him with a powerful leg kick and Nutt went down. He looked simply to tired to continue and tapped out. It was a brief but exciting cameo from the Entertainer, will it give him a hunger for more or will he hang up his competitive gloves for good?
Winner The Latino – Nutt Tapped Out
I would like to see a rematch with Nutt getting a decent time to get into shape, it would be fun, I’m not sure Jon would agree.
The next post will be the big fight! Takase Vs Kessler
