Main fighting style?

I don't have a definite fighting style but I practice Brazilian jiujitsu, Muay Thai, Wrestling and Boxing. 

What is your record? It's currently 1-0 in MMA.

Who was your main influence in MMA?

It's pretty hard to pinpoint a particular someone who influenced me. I would say my team mates and coaches, ultimately I'm as strong as my training partners or at least I strive to be everyday.

Who is your favorite fighter and why?

If I hadda pick, it would be Frankie Edgar for his resilience and work ethic. 

Anything you wish to say to your opponent?

There's nothing much I have to say, let our fists do the talking.

At the next Everlast Ultimate Beatdown event named "Armageddon" we are pleased to have three representatives from Singapores Team Overall

So let's meet the warriors and find out a little bit about them:

American Major Overall is the leader of the team and the fighter who has fought at the highest level out of all the fighters on this card.

Overall burst onto the Asian MMA scene with a storming win over Malaysian ONE FC fighter AJ Lias Mansor at Bangkok's DARE orgnisation.

That win won Overall a bout on ONE FC and he has also fought at Legionnaire FC in Kuala Lumpur. His record is 2-1.

He will be facing Mark Kam a veteren at 39 who although making his MMA debut has ten years of Wushu and Wing Chun training.

Main style: "As a child M studied Miyagi do karate and as a teenager i studied mutant turtle style ninjutsu. That was the last time I limited myself to the confines of a style."

Main influence in MMA: War machine

Favorite fighter: Enson Inoue because he lives the samurai way and never quits!

·   The second member of Team Overall is Hong Yeow who will be making his MMA debut against Muhmammad Akbar "Iron Syeikh"

Hong Yeows main style is Wushu and describes Major Overall as his main influence.

Favorite fighter Georges St-Pierre because of his athleticism and hard working character

At the next Ultimate Beatdown event named "Armageddon" we are pleased to have three representatives from Malati Puteh Fight Club who specialise in the Penchak Silat style, training under Grand Master of Silat Melati Puteh. All three fighters they are sending to the cage are making their MMA debuts and that means their opponents will be unable to prepare for them individually. They will just have to be ready to fight.

Hazirul Aidid Bin Mustafa "Boy" will be facing Eugenio Dauz Tan from (Ultimate MMA, Johor) 

His favorite fighter was Bruce Lee! and when asked to say something to his opponent he said "Let's have fun" hmmm not sure he has met Eugenio Tan yet then!

Muhammad Akbar Bin Kamaruddin  "Iron Syeikh" will be facing Hong Yew from Impakt MMA (Singapore) 

His favorite fighter is Anderson Silva who he described as One of the most awesome fighters in MMA and his message to his opponent was" Good luck, cuz you'll be needing it".

What gym do you represent?

I train in the gym at Johor Bahru (good BJJ background), back yard with some of my friend, and once awhile. We have a mini sparring session at the nearest park. Just for fun.

What is your main fighting style?

My fighting style depends on the opponent I’m fighting. I study them, know what is their weakness but most importantly, what are their strength. For their strength is what make them good. My fighting style is the most adaptive one. Always changing, always adapting, and always improving. 

What is your record?

This will be the second time I’m fighting for Ultimate beatdown. Current, 1-0 for UB.  But I’m currently on a 9 winning streak in thumb wrestling. 9-0. That have to count for something, right?

Let see if we get paid this time.

Who was your main influence in MMA?

-       Fedor Emelianenko. He remained undefeated for nearly a decade, during which time he was widely considered the best heavyweight fighter in mixed martial arts.

                                                                                                                        

Who is your favorite fighter and why?

 Cain Velasquez and Floyd Maywheather.  Truly a man with high dedication and such devotion to the sport.  Both are them are champion in their own sport.

Anything you wish to say to your opponent

Your just another man of my path to glory.  Hope nothing but the best for you.

I would like to give a shout out to my coach Chian Yik, for taking me in.  Al-midad , Ben and chun kiat as my training partner.  Beating each other out physically yet growing each day. And lastly, to my parent and my close friend ‘ butterfly’, you know who are you. Thanks for being there always.

Mixed Martial Arts - The Worlds Fastest Growing Sport is coming back to Johor 

The man behind Ultimate Beatdown is Johor's own International MMA Star, (ONE FC) Melvin Yeo (You can read more about Melvin HERE and HERE). The event started out in his MMA Gym at Mount Austen (Ultimate MMA Academy - Video of Gym HERE) before moving to the De'Bali Restaurant & Bistro for events 9 and 10. These were very well attended and now to continue it's expansion event number 11 will be at Cheers Bar, Danga Bay.

There will be a packed fight card featuring the both local and international fighters and is sponsored by Everlast and Cheers Bar.
