PAKMMA FA 2 - Pakistan vs Afghanistan

ABOUT PAKMMA Fighting Alliance (PAKMMA FA)

PAKMMA Fighting Alliance is an MMA league whose management is almost solely made up of MMA fighters and fans. Hence, our tag line is "For the fighters, by the fighters." Previous promotions have done a great job promoting the sport in Pakistan, but for those who had been toiling for years on the ground, it was missing something. For example, ONEFC's Victor Cui is a martial artist, Matt Hume was one of the top pound for pound in the world. So it is easy for them to connect with the fighters and they speak the same language. We wanted something like this in Pakistan and we put together PAKMMA Fighting Alliance. It's more than a league it's a symbol of our unity as an MMA community, from the gyms in Karachi that have not yet been penetrated by the league to the MMA heart land of Punjab to the total Wild West of Pakistani MMA in the tribal run western areas.
We are giving out the biggest purses and prizes, we're taking care of the fighters and we're making sure they know that they are appreciated. We're still aiming for perfection and we have made some mistakes, but that's part of the game and we wish for all those who are a part of this process to forgive us in the meantime.
But rest assured we are the top promotion in Pakistan because we have a bad ass team. Myself, some of the most experienced event management people, the most committed and knowledgable MMA fans who have been with the Pakistani MMA scene since day ONE, and our president is a ROCK STAR - LITERALLY! He has played with the most famous musicians in Pakistan in front of crowds of 75,000 people. He knows the media, the A-list red carpet crowd we're gonna bring in and can get sponsors.
In fact, we have been able to keep this event free because we want to make this particular, historic Pak vs Afghan event accessible to every and any MMA fan in Pakistan. Because we have developed such amazing relationship with sponsors because of who we have on our team, we have been blessed to be able to offer PAKMMA FA 2, for FREE to all Pakistani MMA fans out there.

About PAKMMA FA 2

PAKMMA FA 2 is the BIGGEST MMA event to happen in Pakistan thus far. In the first PAKMMA FA we made history by having the first international MMA fights in Pakistan, when we called over the Afghan MMA fighters. Initially, we wanted amateur fights and so some of our greenest fighters with the least experience were on the undercard fighting the Afghans whom we found out later on were NOT amateur. Though they were new to MMA, they had years of experience in wrestling, boxing, wushu etc. This is the trouble on the new Asian scene since i is hard to know the true backgrounds and history of fighters from different areas. So These Afghans were fighting Pakistani guys who had been training in any martial art from a few months to a year. Needless to say, all the Pakistani's lost and people were disheartened but also fired up! They thought they had faced the best, but we knew what their level was like now and so we made sure to give them even match ups in FA 2. Some of the best MMA fighters in Afghanistan will now be fighting some of the best MMA and this is why this is THE biggest card in Pakistani MMA.

The two main events are Waqar Umar, one of the first fighters to be trained under me and one of the top fighters on the MMA scene. He will be fighting Nangyalai a hard hitting Afghan who showed a lot of technical skills when he last fought an upcoming fighter from 3G in Karachi, Shahid Siddique.
The co-main event is a fighter named Uloomi who is arguably the most popular fighter aside from myself on the Pakistani MMA scene. He hails from Team Fight Fortress in Islamabad and he is going to be fighting a wrestler whom we haven't seen before Mujtaba Yousofi.

Podcast Ep55 PAKMMA ~ Bashir Ahmad

Welcome to Ep55 with our Guest Bashir Ahmad from PAKMMA

In his third appearance on the show Bashir Ahmad tell’s us all about the ONE FC summit that he recently attended. His plans to do a bit of training in Chiang Mai, Thailand at Team Quest for a few months to prepare for a period when he expects to have some fights within the ONE FC network.

Bashir is really at the coalface of Pakistan MMA, there is NO MMA on TV in Pakistan and almost no press coverage, so he deserves our respect and support for the work he is doing in bringing recognition to the sport in Pakistan, plus he explains just how pleasant (not) it can be training in a gym when the Electircity goes off almost daily.

We also discussed the fact that an estimated 60% of Martial Arts equipment and apparel is actually made in Pakistan which led us to discuss Mixed Martial Arts Pakistan Equipment and Apparel (PAKMMA) and Bashirs plans for that business. Bottom line if you need MMA equipment and apparel it might be worth speaking to PAKMMA.

Anyway, you don’t need to hear all this stuff it’s podcast time  listen, it’s worth it.

PAK Fight Club – Fight Card and Preview

PAK Fight Club – Fight Card and Preview

Another of this weekends Asian MMA shows isPak Fight Club from Lahore

Our special thanks to Bashir Ahmad for his help with this Article.

Breakdown of the Fight Card

Bout:
Sameer Khan  Vs Haaris Farooq (83kg)

Khan (1-0-0)  is a veteran of PFC and comes from a family of fighters. His uncle is one of the best Sanda coaches in the country and his brother is in the national Sanda team. He has great boxing and underestimated kicks. He only has basic ground ability, his real strength is in stand-up. From a the northern part of the country he has “mountain man strength” and is tough beyond belief.

Farooq (no record) is a Kyokushin Karate Champion. He has got serious power but an unknown ground game.

Bout:
Idrees Baig Vs Waqas Azeem (83kg)

Baig (no record) is a team mate of Sameer and is expected to have decent stand up and a general knowledge of the ground game via Sameer.

Waqas (no record) trains out of 3G MMA in Karachi. The only team out of Karachi which is active in MMA. Expect him to be well rounded as these guys take the MMA game seriously.

Bout:
Ezzatullah Zakir Vs Ashfaq Jutt (77kg)

Ezzatullah (no record) comes from Sultan Sports Academy out of Quetta, a rough and tumble frontier town on the border with Afghanistan and Iran. He has a Sanda background.

Ashfaq Jutt (1-0-0) is a well known face in the MMA scene here. He has Wushu background, this guy has great conditioning and is relatively well rounded.

Bout:
Rehmatullah Vs Ali Ahmed  (70kg)

Rehmatullah (no record) is also from Sultan Sports Academy. He has cross trained in many different martial arts since he was young. He is very eager to get into MMA. His ground game is weak, but then again his last fight was to Bashir Ahmad who has much experience.

Ahmed (no record) comes from Team Pakido in Gujar Khan. These guys are some of the most well rounded fighters in the country and expect him to have a big advantage on the ground.
Bout:

M. Arshad Vs Bashir Ahmad (70kg)
This is actually a rematch. These two faced off in the Punjab Jiu Jitsu Final. A Japanese Jiu Jitsu tournament in which Arshad got a major upset against PAKMMA founder Bashir Ahmad. So, expect this to be a real exciting bout.

Arshad (no record) is a  TKD and Karate champion who has also trained in Judo. He is from Hafizabad Martial Arts Academy.  He is technically a gold medalist in JJ competition so expect a huge difference in skill level on the ground.

Ahmad is the pioneer of MMA in Pakistan with a background in Muay Thai and BJJ. He is welcoming Arshad into the world of MMA so he can get revenge on a his loss.

Bout:
Abdur Rehman  Vs Waqar Umar (70kg)

Rehman (no record) is another fighter from Pakido and should be a tough match.

Umar (0-1-0)  from Synergy MMA Academy is the most experienced MMA fighter in Pakistan. Very well rounded he was suppossed to fight in SFL 2 (Super Fight League)  but sadly had visa issues.

Bout:
Snobar Rana Vs Khalil (61kg)

Snobar (0-1-0) is 19 and is fighting out of Chiniot. He has a background in TKD and Muay Thai. Loves the elbows and knees but ignores doing any training on the ground.

Khalil (no record) is 39 years old and is one of the oldest members of the Sanda community. He has been training hard to catch up on the ground game but will mostly rely on good boxing to win this fight. So, with neither fighter being strong on the ground expect this to be a stand-up brawl.

Bout:
Uloomi Vs Owais Shah  (61kg)

Uloomi (1-0-0)  is fighting out of Team Fight Fortress. One of the best teams in the country with some of the smartest and most effective training. A life long practicioner of martial arts he has excellent boxing and is well rounded in other areas.

Shah (no record) is the Act One Tourney Muay Thai champion but other than that not much is known about this guy who is the captain of 3G MMA out of Karachi. A lifelong martial artist we are all waiting to see what this guy brings to the table.

 Bout:
Afnan Iftikhar  Vs Kamran Iqbal  1-0 (61kg)
This is a rematch from their meeting in PFC 1.

Iftikhar (0-1-0)  trains out of Synergy MMA in Lahore and has a solid grappling and striking background. In their last meeting he was unable to capitalize on his grappling strengths and in fact was defeated via Ground and Pound.

Iqbal (1-0-0)  is out of Team Fight Fortres and is more of a striker.

Bout:
Muhammad Imran 1-0 vs Shams Rehman 0-0 (55kg)

Imran (1-0-0) is from Team Pakido and has some great clinch work as well ground game. If this fight goes to the ground Rehman will be in for a rough night.

Rehman (no record) is a Sanda standout and there are a ot lof hope that this young guy will make it far in combat sports. He has good striking and takedowns and a very very calm fighter.

Bout:
Jamil Jamil  Vs Muhammad Shahid (55kg)

Jamil (no record) is The Dragon Society of Islamabads top prospect and a well rounded guy with a love for the Muay Thai elbows and knees. He Won his tryout fight via choke.

Shahid (no record) is another Pakido fighter who is expected to be well rounded with good clich work and ground game.
