King of the Cage News
King of the Cage joins forces with Talking Stick Resort and Casino Arizona to perform a series of Mixed Martial Arts events in the Phoenix / Scottsdale Market.
King of the Cage Inc. strikes a multi-event contract with one of the nation’s top casino groups, Salt River Community Gaming Enterprises DBA Talking Stick Resort and Casino Arizona. KOTC will be performing events throughout 2013, with the first to be held on January 19th. Quoting Terry Trebilcock, CEO and Founder of KOTC, "We are very excited to finally expand into the Scottsdale/Phoenix market. Having event destinations in all of the surrounding markets, it was a natural progression of our brand to be there, and Talking Stick Resort was at the top of our list. We look forward to bringing our level of fighting events to Arizona."

The World of MMA This Week (USA)
This Weeks MMA ~ USA
So continuing our look at next weekend shows today we consider America.
American fans can look forward to Six shows as mentioned on Sherdog.com.
Bellator of course are in there but as the de-facto number two organisation we will do them on a separate post, so it's five events this post.
So lets start with Sparta Contact League - Gladiators in Colorado.
No fights are actually listed on Sherdog but it looks like we have:
Alfredo Corona (4-4-0) vs Rocky Johnson (17-10-0)
Adam Stroup (1-1-0) vs Steven Lee (0-1-0)
Aaron Scott (debut) vs TBA
Sadly that's all i can find at this point, the website is no help either.
King of the Cage bring us Final Countdown from Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Again not much on Sherdog, just one fight listed.
This is crazy KotC is one of the biggest of the rest of the American organisations with well over 250 events to their name and yet they don't have their shit together enough to supply sherdog with their fight card.
Isaac Colon (2-2-0) vs Frank Baca (15-2-0) is the only fight I have details of but based upon the poster the following fighters will also be making an appearance.
Adrian Cruz (2-0-0)
Derrick San Miguel (1-2-0)
Amber Brown (no record)
Freddy Crosby (no record)
Erik Kucevic (1-4-0)
Aaron Perls (no record) (2-0 amateur)
Steven Gonzalez (no record) (2-0 amateur)
Eric White (no record) (2-1 amateur)
Josh Rodriguez (no record) (0-2 amateur)
Skyler Pendleton (no record) (3-1 amateur)
Tim Sosa (no record) (9-3 amateur)
Charlie Williams (no record)
Amanda Lovato (no record)
So it's difficult to judge the quality of the match-ups as we don't know who is fighting who.
I think we can deduce that Amber brown will be facing Amanda Lovato after that it's just crazy guess work.
Next up is FKA ~ Showdown in Surf Town - Santa Cruz
Nothing on Sherdog however I have found the card!
Bout 1:~ Emmanuel Moreno (no record) vs Art Alvarado (0-1-0)
Bout 2:~ Joseph Williams (1-0-0) vs Jacob Espinoza (1-0-0)
Bout 3:~ Hector Arriaga (1-0-0) vs Jhonatan Costa (no record)
Bout 4:~ Daniel Ortiz (1-1-0) vs Russell Still (1-0-0)
Bout 5:~ Brian McMillan (no record) vs Vyas Noel (0-1-0)
Bout 6:~ Moses DeSoto (0-1-0) vs Thomas Demma (no record)
Bout 7:~ josh Passmore (2-4-0) vs Alexander Lopez (4-0-0)
Bout 8:~ Jose Marin (6-1-0) vs Dustin Moore (4-3-0)
Bout 9:~ Karl Mitchell (3-2-0) vs Marco Del Real (3-3-0)
I have to say there is not lots of super experienced fighters on this card but I like it. It's balanced with the least experienced being matched against similar fighters and as we move up the card we still have balance. There does not appear to be any obvious mismatches.
Should be a good night of fighting.
North American Allied Fight Series ~ Caged Fury 20 ~ Columbus, Ohio.
Again the fight card is not on sherdog (sigh)
The card starts with eleven Amateur bouts (details here)
This should be an exciting evening not the least because the amateur card includes three semi final bouts in the NAAFS Amateur Series.
185lbs (Semi Final) Stephen Schlater (4-0-0) vs Mike Schimek (6-1-0)
Winner faces:~ Nick Hakides (3-1)
205lbs (Semi Final) Jason Cowden (4-1-0) vs Wayne Lanum (7-0-0)
Winner faces:~ Dan Stevenson (5-0-0)
265lbs (Semi Final) Jordan Beverly (5-1-0) vs Jeff Hughes (10-2-0)
Winner faces:~ James Rankin (6-3-0)
And Three Pro Bouts:
Bobby Emmons (3-1-0) vs Antonio Castillo Jr (4-4-0)
Corey Simmons (no record) vs Roc Castricone (8-2-0)
Dan Spohn (6-3-0) vs TBC
Next Up:
Hoosier Fight Club 13 - Valparaiso, Indiana
And once again f**k all fight card on Sherdog! (just in case you are wondering I am not blaming Sherdog, I am blaming the retarded marketing of these organisations, when what must be the worlds biggest MMA website by a considerable margin does bot have your fight card a few days before the event.
Frankly this lot could not even manage to put their fight card anywhere obvious on their own site so f**k them.
The only fight we know for sure is Josh Shockley (9-2-0) and fighter with a recent 2-1 Bellator record vs Mike Cannon (5-1-0-1)
Overall I am quite shocked at the lack of decent information available for most of these events. Some have videos and fancy stuff but fight cards are pretty hard to come by in most cases.
